LAND USE AND CONSERVATION PRACTICE

Environmental and Conservation Law Practice: Throughout the firm's 30+ years, the legal aspects of land use and land conservation from both the individual and corporate perspective have been among our areas of particular experience and expertise; and because the firm's general civil practice involves real estate and zoning, wills and estates, environmental law, business law, foreclosures and collections, and includes litigation before Connecticut and federal courts and administrative agencies, the firm is able to view and tackle all facets of a land related matter.

Our attorneys are familiar with and have been part of many of the conservation organizations in the state. The firm has participated in successful land preservation efforts and land conservation transactions throughout Connecticut. Our attorneys have been there from the formation of non-profit corporations to the drafting of conservation easements (in Connecticut known as "conservation restrictions") and the preparation of easement documentation reports. We have represented clients in CERCLA actions and toxic torts cases.

Zoning and Land Use: Our firm is known for its zeal, professionalism and dedication to our clients in zoning and administrative law matters. Individuals, citizens groups, corporations and zoning boards have been successfully represented in matters ranging from small local projects to regional malls and football stadiums.

Real Estate and Closings: For first time buyers, real estate owners and developers generally, both conventional and government assisted, we have provided services in many aspects of property acquisition; mortgage financing for acquisition, construction, resale to unit purchasers, negotiating and litigating construction contract disputes; planning, zoning, environmental, and other regulatory controls; and organizing condominiums and planned communities under the Connecticut Common Interest Ownership Act.
